Russell Grant's Statement
Dear Friends
As you may now know I am back with a focus on Middlesex Club Cricket and Hockey. I was less than impressed (understatement) by last year's administration of the newly inaugured MFSDL. Unfortunately due to my ill health I was out of circulation. However I am determined along with my colleagues to make this a shining example of all the Development Leagues currently running in the Home Counties.
My first task is to welcome new club SOUTHALL CC who join us this year and CHRISTINA KNIGHT from Potters Bar CC (where I am an Honorary Life Member!) who is going to be the head honcho for the MFSDL. It is my pleasure to give you a warm welcome.
I have attached a list of contacts for each club; Christina Knight is looking after the results etc., and is our dedicated MFSDL Exec. I have also personally invested in a new website www.middlesexcolts.co.uk of which this league will be at the top of the pyramid.
The new website will be up and running this week. The Editor is Sean Mcardell - who runs the Evening Standard Trophy website for the Federation of Middlesex & City of London Sports and the National Sporting Club. Would you please send to me as soon possible all the fixtures details - I know Brentham CC have already sent these into us on MiddlesexSports@aol.com
Jeff Barnes is talking to good old Ray Bennison at Harrow CC for the final play-off date between North and South winners. Harrow is right in the middle of the county and a perfect neutral venue. We have ball sponsors for the final in the shape of Tim Munton and the SportsHQ and CA Cricket Equipment. I think that is all for now, except to say enjoy the season and any problems please contact Christina who like us all in Middlesex want everything our county and clubs do to be the very best.
I will leave you with one interesting point, Beaconsfield CC have already informed us about their interest in joining us next year. Any questions, worries, qualms - contact me immediately.
All the best,
Russell (Grant)
